Clinical Lecturer in Vascular & Endovascular Surgery:

The Department of Vascular & Endovascular Surgery at University College Hospital Galway and the Department of Surgery at the National University of Ireland Galway (NUIG) are seeking a Clinical Lecturer in Vascular & Endovascular Surgery to join our clinical & academic vascular practice.

Start date July 1st, 2008

This is a 2-3 year post

This practice involves all aspects of vascular surgery with main emphasis on endovascular surgery. As part of their academic responsibilities, candidates must be involved in medical student didactic and practical tuition.

  • Applicants must play an active role in the departmental endovascular fellowship programme.
  • Applicants are obliged to have on-going involvement in clinical research.
  • Endovascular Fellow ship will be awarded at the end of his training from NUIG
  • In association with the National University of Ireland Galway candidates are given the opportunity to pursue MD post-graduate degrees, completed on the basis of clinical research dissertation.

The following are obligatory:

  • Registration with the Irish Medical Council/eligible
  • Specialist registration with the RCSI/eligible
  • At least two years Vascular & Endovascular experience at registrar level
  • AFRCS or FRCS or MRCS or American Board or European vascular Board

Salary scale: €60,048 - €69,764 (excluding overtime)

Endovascular Fellow/ Registrar grade

The Department of Vascular & Endovascular Surgery at University College Hospital Galway and the Department of Surgery at the National University of Ireland Galway (NUIG) are seeking an Endovascular Fellow /Registrar grade to join our clinical & academic vascular practice.

Start date July 1st, 2008

This is a 2-3 year post

This is a clinical post involving all aspects of vascular surgery with a strong emphasis on endovascular surgery.

In association with the National University of Ireland Galway candidates are given the opportunity to pursue MD post-graduate degrees, completed on the basis of clinical research dissertation.

  • Applicants must play an active role in the departmental endovascular fellowship programme.
  • Applicants are obliged to have on-going involvement in clinical research.
  • Endovascular Fellow ship will be awarded at the end of his training from NUIG
  • In association with the National University of Ireland Galway candidates are given the opportunity to pursue MD post-graduate degrees, completed on the basis of clinical research dissertation.

The following are obligatory:

  • Registration with the Irish Medical Council/eligible
  • Candidates must register for the Endovascular Fellowship degree programme, which is run in conjunction with the National University of Ireland Galway.
  • AFRCS or FRCS or MRCS or American Board or European vascular Board

Salary scale: €47,613 - €51,595 (excluding overtime)
