Prof Sherif Sultan, Ms Niamh Hynes and Dr Edel Kavanagh are actively involved in teaching third and fourth year biomedical engineering students. The module, previously developed for fourth year students (Medical and Surgical Practice-SU404) was recently reviewed and is now included in the third year of study from the academic year 2017-2018 (Surgical and Medical Biodesign-BME3102). Learning for this module is largely problem based, with device design, patient case reporting, and lectures.
